As a Sustainability Administrator/Co-ordinator, you will have the opportunity to provide support to the Sustainability and Utilities Manager in the execution of environmental and sustainable development plans, policies, and targets. This includes ensuring adherence to legal requirements and developing new programs and management systems to enhance environmental sustainability performance on an ongoing basis.
The role also involves managing utilities and bills, overseeing the day-to-day waste collection operations on campus, and maintaining the sustainability web and intranet pages. Additionally, the position encompasses handling all other administrative tasks necessary to bolster the team's efforts.
This role will not only allow you to contribute to the University's sustainability goals but also provide you with a platform for personal growth and development in the field of sustainability. This is an exciting opportunity for an early career environmentalist to join our small but committed sustainability team, engaging with climate, biodiversity and other environmental issues across the University alongside gaining experience of handling day-to-day queries and operational matters around our utilities and other services.
The working pattern for this post is full time; however, we may be able to consider offering reduced hours. Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role. This appointment is a fixed-term contract until 31 May 2027 (or the earlier return of the substantive post holder) to cover a period of maternity leave.
