This role will give you hands-on experience of student recruitment and will enable you to develop a range of professional and transferable skills in a supportive environment. You’ll play a crucial role in inspiring the next generation of students and enjoy a fast paced, varied role working in schools, colleges and events across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
As a Student Recruitment and Conversion Assistant, you will:
- Promote the University: Engage with UK schools and colleges to promote the University of Portsmouth and boost undergraduate applications.
- Be Our Ambassador: Represent the University at higher education recruitment exhibitions and events across the UK, delivering engaging presentations to prospective students.
- Organise and Deliver Events: Assist in planning and executing recruitment and conversion events for prospective students, parents, and teachers.
What We\'re Looking For
To excel in this role, you will have:
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong Organisational and time management skills
- Experience of working with and motivating young people
- Knowledge of the UK schools and colleges system, higher education, and widening participation initiatives.

Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role. You’ll be based at the University of Portsmouth but will travel frequently to schools, colleges and recruitment events throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays. A full clean driving licence is highly desirable and an Enhanced DBS clearance is essential. You must also be prepared to work evenings and weekends as required.
The interview date is anticipated to be held on 12 September 2025.
