The Faculty of Science and Health is seeking a Teaching Fellow in Sport and Exercise Science. The role is based in the School of Psychology, Sport and Health Sciences.
Overview
The successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Sport and Exercise Science. The position supports a broad portfolio of courses including BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science, BSc (Hons) Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences, BSc (Hons) Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences, MSc Sport Management and research degrees.
Responsibilities
- Teach and assess at Level 4 (first year undergraduate) in at least two of the following areas: sport and exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, and biomechanics.
- Participate in the development of curriculum, assessment and scholarship in line with School and Faculty objectives.
- Enhance student experience and employability, and support marketing, outreach and widening participation activities.
- Contribute to the use of laboratory and teaching facilities such as Extreme Environment Laboratories and the Portsmouth Elite Athlete Centre.
Qualifications
- Broad working and practical knowledge of sport and exercise science.
- Academic or applied practice background acceptable.
- Evidence of teaching or teaching experience is desirable.
Employment Conditions
- Full-time, on-site only; hybrid working not offered.
- Fixed-term contract up to 12 months, ending on 31 August 2027.
- Interviews anticipated on 14 July 2026.
- Eligibility for secondment under the Secondment Policy requires prior line-manager approval.
