As a Sustainability Administrator/Co‑ordinator you will support the Sustainability and Utilities Manager in executing environmental and sustainable development plans, policies, and targets. Your responsibilities include ensuring adherence to legal requirements, developing new programmes and management systems to enhance environmental sustainability performance, managing utilities and bills, overseeing day‑to‑day waste collection operations on campus, and maintaining the sustainability web and intranet pages. Additionally you will handle all other administrative tasks necessary to strengthen the team’s efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Sustainability and Utilities Manager in planning and implementing sustainability strategies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legal requirements.
- Develop and maintain management systems for sustainability performance.
- Manage utilities, billing and day‑to‑day waste collection operations.
- Maintain the sustainability web pages and intranet content.
- Handle general administrative duties to support the sustainability team.
Contract Details
This is a fixed‑term contract until 31 May 2027 (or earlier upon return of the substantive post holder) covering maternity leave. The working pattern is full‑time, with the possibility of reduced hours. The position requires occasional attendance in Portsmouth; hybrid working is available practising regularly in the office.
Salary Information
New appointments will start at the entry‑level pay point for the advertised grade, with annual cost‑of‑living increments and progression through the pay range to the maximum over time. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be offered to exceptional candidates when justified.
