The University of Portsmouth has an ambitious Digital Plan and is investing approximately £25m this year in digital, data and technology capabilities that will underpin the next phase of the University’s development. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Information Technology will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering this agenda, leading a broad portfolio spanning digital transformation, cyber security, data and AI, enterprise systems, infrastructure modernisation and technology-enabled organisational change.
Current investment includes the implementation of a new Finance system, continued expansion of Microsoft 365, a new timetabling solution, a curriculum management platform, significant upgrades to network infrastructure, smart building technologies and IT teaching facilities, and the development of new data and digital capabilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence the University’s future digital direction, ensuring that technology, data and information continue to enhance teaching and learning, research, student experience and operational effectiveness across the institution.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-looking university at a time of significant investment and change, where digital, data and technology are recognised as critical enablers of institutional success.
Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role.
