The Role

This role will oversee the day‑to‑day management of financial transactions, including payments, travel and expenses. The Accounts Payable & Transactions Manager will ensure that all transactions comply with University Financial Regulations and align with legislative requirements, working across the Finance department to achieve this goal as required. The role will work collaboratively with the Financial Systems Team to meet their objectives. It will also work closely with University departments to provide guidance on financial policies, streamline processes and ensure continuous improvement of the university’s transaction procedures.

Working pattern: full‑time, but reduced hours may be considered. The role requires presence in Portsmouth a few days a week, with hybrid working available.

Interview date: week commencing 15 June 2026.

Contract: fixed‑term until 17 December 2027. For internal candidates, application may be under the Secondment Policy. If applying as a secondee, line‑manager approval is required and must be confirmed in the application.

Salary Information

New appointments will be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, with annual cost‑of‑living related increases and progression through the pay range to the maximum for the grade within a reasonable timeframe. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances justify a departure from our normal policy.
