The Property and Carbon Project Manager - Sustainability plays a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future by offering expert advice and guidance on reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions in university buildings. This position is essential for managing the university’s utilities and energy usage, with the goal of lowering costs, consumption, and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee utilities budget and energy consumption, including procurement, metering, bill validation, recharging, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Drive the design and implementation of the utility metering strategy, maintaining an accurate database for energy and carbon monitoring.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of energy consumption patterns to identify anomalies and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Perform building energy audits to identify energy-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing business cases to secure financial investments for energy efficiency initiatives.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, but applications are welcome from individuals able to commit to a minimum of three days per week. The schedule is flexible to accommodate various personal needs. The role offers hybrid working with typically 2 days working from home and 3 days on Portsmouth campus.
