Portsmouth School of Law is seeking to appoint a full‑time Lecturer in Law to contribute to teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design, delivery, assessment and administration of core and specialist law modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Applicants should demonstrate enthusiasm for high‑quality, student‑centred teaching and a commitment to supporting student learning and progression.

Portsmouth School of Law offers a thriving and supportive research culture, and the successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to develop their research profile and pursue their research ambitions alongside teaching contributions. This position is on‑site only; hybrid working cannot be supported.

Salary information

New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will, in addition to receiving annual cost‑of‑living‑related increases, progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
