About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Deputy Service Delivery Manager to join our Information Services team at the University of Portsmouth. This is a pivotal role supporting the delivery of high-quality IT services across the University, ensuring our students and staff benefit from reliable, innovative, and user-focused digital solutions.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will lead operational teams, manage service performance, and contribute to strategic initiatives including our Digital Transformation Plan. You\’ll play a key role in shaping service excellence through ITIL-aligned processes and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day IT service delivery operations across the University.
- Support and deputise for the Service Delivery Manager in strategic planning and service development.
- Ensure effective incident, problem, and change management in line with ITIL best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance service quality.
- Monitor service performance metrics and drive improvements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of digital transformation projects.
- Champion a culture of customer service excellence and innovation.
About You
You will be a confident leader with a strong background in IT service management and a passion for delivering outstanding user experiences. You\’ll bring:
- Proven experience in IT service delivery, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and service management frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate technical teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and service improvement.
