Under the direction of the Head of Cyber Security within Library & Information Services, the role is responsible for developing, delivering, and enforcing comprehensive cyber security operations.

Provide leadership for cyber security operations, ensuring resilience against cyber attacks and maintaining a strong security posture. This role manages the Cyber Security Operations team and Managed Security Services Providers (MSSP), overseeing daily operational duties such as incident response, threat reporting, and vulnerability identification.

The post-holder will liaise with technical specialists within IS, other departments, and trusted advisors to implement appropriate security measures, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of university systems and data. They will also serve as the primary point of contact for cyber security and risk matters, collaborating with the Security Operations Centre.

The role involves advising on existing security arrangements, designing new security products and services, and staying updated on the evolving threat landscape, best practices, standards, and technologies. This position offers hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days on campus per week.
