As Marketing Communications Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the Students’ Union’s communications, with responsibility for leading the narrative across all platforms. Working within the Marketing team, and supporting the Digital and Membership vision, you’ll take a membership‑first approach, ensuring everything we communicate reflects the needs, behaviours, and diversity of our student community. This is a role with real ownership and autonomy.
You’ll be responsible for developing clear, engaging, and insight‑led communications that cut through the noise, protect and enhance the Union’s reputation, and strengthen our connection with students. You’ll lead on messaging and campaigns across multiple channels, using data, feedback, and a strong understanding of student demographics to inform your approach. You’ll also work closely with the Marketing Team, providing direction and support to ensure consistency and impact across all digital platforms.

Qualifications- Experience using digital platforms, analytics, and insight to inform communications and improve performance
- Understanding of risk in communications and the ability to respond appropriately to sensitive or emerging issues
- Awareness of student audiences (or similar communities), with the ability to tailor communications to different demographics
- The ability to work across multiple projects and priorities, managing your own workload effectively
- Confidence to work independently, using your initiative to make decisions and drive activity forward
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to support colleagues and contribute to a wider team approach
- A creative and proactive mindset, with the ability to develop engaging and impactful ideas
- Strong team mentality, supportive and sociable workplace
