The Role:

Are you an IT professional who’s excited to make a real difference for students? The University of Portsmouth is looking for an ambitious and technically skilled Senior Service Delivery Analyst to join our Student Service Delivery (SSD) team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering innovative IT services that directly support students and staff across the University.

You will provide 1st, 2nd and some 3rd line support through phone, email and on-site assistance, while helping to maintain and improve a wide range of digital services and technologies. From laptop lockers and smart learning spaces to virtual servers, SaaS platforms and chatbots, you will work with systems that shape the student experience every day.

As part of a forward-thinking team, you will develop your expertise in service management and ITIL best practice, gain access to further technical training, and have opportunities to lead projects and contribute to major University-wide digital transformation initiatives. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with emerging technologies, and making a visible impact in a dynamic higher education environment. This position is based on-site at the Portsmouth Campus.

The successful applicant will have excellent customer service skills and experience working within a strong customer focused environment. This position is working on-site only, so we are unable to support hybrid working for this appointment. A small amount of flexibility may be available on discussion with local management.

Discover the advantages of joining our university. We offer a range of attractive benefits and opportunities to enhance your work experience:

  • Competitive salary, including incremental progression within your scale.
  • Generous pension scheme.
  • Generous leave entitlement of 32-35 days a year, plus bank holidays, and an additional Christmas closure.
  • Family-friendly policies supporting flexible working.
  • Staff discounts and loyalty schemes.
  • Staff car parking and discounted public travel.
  • Excellent training and development opportunities.

  • Discounted learning.
  • Start-up business mentoring from expert entrepreneurs via our Entrepreneurs in Residence programme.

Salary Information: New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.

UKVI Statement: Prior to submitting your application, kindly ensure that you can either demonstrate or acquire the necessary right to work in the UK. If you currently do not possess the right to work in the UK, please be aware that our offer of employment is conditional upon you obtaining it.
