The Role:

The Department of Recruitment, Marketing and Communications (RMC) provides a comprehensive and high-quality administrative service to applicants, students, colleagues and external stakeholders on behalf of the University of Portsmouth. We guide applicants through the application process to registration, contribute to recruitment and conversion activities, and have a strong presence at Open Events alongside the wider department.

We also operate the functions associated with academic standards, quality and partnerships, business intelligence and external returns, in close liaison with all colleagues including academics and external stakeholders. This role is based within the University Admissions Centre, and the successful candidate will be responsible for processing applications for University of Portsmouth courses using the University's Student Systems and reporting tools.

The working pattern for this post is full time, however we may be able to consider offering reduced hours to the right candidate. Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role. The interviews are currently anticipated to be held on 25 June 2026. Fixed term contract for 12 months (or the earlier return of the substantive post holder) to cover a period of maternity leave.

Salary Information:

New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
