An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance Department as part of the Treasury and Banking team in the role of Deputy Head of Treasury and Banking. This is a fixed term position to support the team whilst the current postholder is on secondment to a project implementing the University’s new finance system.

The successful applicant will support the Head of Treasury and Banking in managing the provision of treasury and banking services for the University of Portsmouth and its subsidiary companies, ensuring that key financial controls are in place and maintained.

The role would suit applicants who are highly motivated with excellent communication skills, and the ability to work accurately and methodically to given deadlines. Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role. This is a full time role, although some flexibility may be available if requested to work an 0.8FTE.

The interviews are currently anticipated to be held on 30 June 2026. This appointment is a fixed-term contract until 31 October 2027.

New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe.
