The Role:
This role will oversee the day-to-day management of financial transactions, including payments, travel, and expenses. The Accounts Payable & Transactions Manager will ensure that all transactions comply with University Financial Regulations and align with legislative requirements, working across the Finance department to achieve this goal as required. This role will work collaboratively with the Financial Systems Team to meet their objectives.
The role will work closely with University departments to provide guidance on financial policies, streamline processes, and ensure continuous improvement activity across the University in respect of the transactions procedures. The working pattern for this post is full time; however, we may be able to consider reduced hours. Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available for this role.
The interviews are currently anticipated to be held week commencing 15 June 2026. This appointment is a fixed-term contract until 17 December 2027. For internal candidates, it may be possible to apply for this role under the Secondment Policy. Salary Information:
New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
