We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced early years practitioner ready to support our families and teams to deliver high quality, child centered, care and learning. This is a chance to lead, inspire and make a real difference.
Responsibilities:- Leads the delivery and continuous development of an effective and flexible early year’s provision.
- Ensures high standards of childcare are implemented throughout the nursery.
- Organises and supervises the day-to-day workflow of the team to ensure agreed targets and standards are consistently met.
- You will lead, coach and motivate your staff team, working with them to ensure a consistent high quality service is provided to all children and families.
Central to roles within Freshlings Nursery is providing a safe, healthy, caring, inclusive and stimulating environment, where children are respected and supported as individuals and encouraged to learn through play and exploration. Adopting a child-centred approach means that we keep each individual child in focus when making decisions about their lives and working in partnership with them and their families. We have a shared ethos which recognises that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that this duty extends beyond the setting, to the child’s home life and elsewhere.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week on a permanent basis. This position is covered by the Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2018 Regulations. Freshlings Nursery is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of welfare of children. Due to the nature of the role, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate working from home. Due to the nature of this role, an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check plus a Children’s Barred List and Adults Barred List check will be required.
Qualifications & What we’re looking for:- Relevant Childcare and Education qualification equivalent to – NVQ Level 3, NNEB, BTEC as a minimum.
- Good working knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage Principles.
- Good working knowledge of Child Development for children from birth to 5 years.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the role of a ‘Key Person’.
- Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted Inspection processes.
- Recent (previous 2 years) relevant experience of leading in a Nursery environment as a room/team leader, working with the children, leading a team, supporting and mentoring individuals, including trainees/apprentices.
- Working in an environment with sensitive and confidential information.
- Working in partnership with parents, colleagues and outside agencies.
