Main duties of the job
As a bLecturerin Childrens Nursing, you will
Contributeto and, where appropriate, lead undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Playa key role in advancing childrens nursing education across all healthcaresettings.
Bringexpertise in caring for children and families, ensuring teaching reflectscontemporary practice.
Joina proactive, enthusiastic team committed to excellence in education and studentexperience.
Supportthe development of Advanced Clinical Practice pathways and contribute togrowing the academic standing of the discipline.
You willbe based on campus bthree days per week, with flexibility for some homeworking in line with business needs.
A bStandardDBS Check is required. In some cases, an bATAS Certificate may also be needed.

Job responsibilities
Education/Teaching:
Deliver teaching of thehighest quality across a range of modules and to all levels, through lectures,tutorials, practicals and seminars and participate in field trips.
Contribute to deliverynationally and internationally as appropriate and in line with Universitypolicies and guidelines.
Provide pastoral care(through the role of personal tutor where appropriate).
Supervise students onprojects, field trips, placements, including where appropriate in clinical orprofessional practice Ensuring that a high-quality learning and researchenvironment is provided.
Set and mark courseworkand exams within required timescales and provide constructive feedback tostudents in line with University guidelines/policy.
Engage with relevantprofessional bodies, organisations, and industries to support their work andinform teaching to enhance the student experience and student employability.
Contribute to thedevelopment of new programmes of study.
Monitor, evaluate andreview course and programme design ensuring suitable for on-campus and distancelearning delivery, and revise as necessary to ensure excellence and coherence.Identify areas of existing provision in need of revision or improvement andtake forward as appropriate.
Develop and promote innovativeteaching and learning approaches, media, and material, which create interest,understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.
Leadership, Management andEngagement:
Work as a team member, developingproductive relationships with colleagues and leading modules, programmes and activitieswhere appropriate.
Manage administrative tasksas appropriate relating to research, enterprise, education and teaching, includingrisk assessment of activities and contribute to project meetings and reportwriting.
Actively participate in national/internationalrecruitment and marketing activities in the School and other student events as appropriate.

Research and Enterprise:

Person Specification
Qualifications
- In depth knowledge of a specific discipline sufficient to enable innovation and new understanding in the field (Essential)
- Recognised HE teaching qualification or appropriate HEA fellowship (Essential)
- Clinical experience in relevant discipline (Essential)
- PhD or equivalent international qualification or commensurate level of recognition/international profile in a relevant discipline (Desirable)
Experience
- Clinical experience in relevant discipline (Essential)
- Experience of delivering high quality research led teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level (Desirable)
- Able to demonstrate the delivery of high-quality research outputs at the appropriate quality level for the discipline and has developed, or has clear plans to develop, impact within area of research (Desirable)
- Contributed to quality assurance activities (such as approval, periodic review, student complaints) (Desirable)
- Ability to demonstrate enhancement to the learning experience through flexible delivery, and pedagogic innovation including the use of digital media, as appropriate to meet the diverse needs of students (Desirable)
