Are you a detail orientated, hardworking and customer focused individual who thrives as working as part of a creative team to deliver great design and print work for the University of Plymouth?

The role will be managing two print officers. Under the guidance of the Creative Services Manager and as a member of the design and print team, you will be responsible for the delivery of and assist in the development of a customer focused, cost effective and progressive print and design service for the University.

The Print Officers advise University staff on everything from basic print through to complex design and print projects, liaising with external suppliers to deliver printed materials on time and to budget and manage the in-house print function ensuring high standards of quality. The Designers deliver the full spectrum of creative for digital and print for University staff and you will assist the Creative Services Manager in reviewing commissions and briefs and liaising with staff to ensure the smooth running of the service.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for maintaining a good relationship with suppliers and stakeholders and overseeing the team in the processing of orders and invoices, booking in and despatching print deliveries and the booking of central resources held by the Design and Print Centre (DPC).
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset, demonstrating a pro-active and solutions-focused approach to delivering services seamlessly as ‘one team’.
  • Support the Creative Services Manager to deliver an effective and flexible administrative service to support the efficient operation of the Design and Print Centre.
  • Deputises for the Creative Services Manager, supporting the design and print teams, managing priorities, allocating resources and delegating tasks effectively.
  • With oversight from the Creative Services Manager, co-ordinates any procurement processes for design and print suppliers.

Due to the nature of the role, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate working from home. This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must hold the legal right to work in the UK.
