Sample Management Assistant

Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The department has around 1000 staff, students and academic visitors working in a number of world-renowned population health research groups to investigate the causes and prevention of disease and lead human health forward.
We are seeking a Sample Management Assistant to work within the sample management team and to support general laboratory housekeeping duties under the guidance of the senior laboratory staff. The role is based at local off-site cold-storage warehouse facilities and at the Richard Doll Building (Old Road Campus).
Your main responsibilities will be to follow standard operating procedures to assist with sample receipt, storage and retrieval of samples, as well as supporting maintenance and testing of equipment and to support an emergency on call rota.
Minimum of three GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths with an excellent attention to detail and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and carry out repetitive tasks to a high degree of accuracy would be essential for this post.
The post is full-time (part-time considered, minimum of 80% full time hours) and fixed-term for 2 years.
