The Reception and Facilities Assistant will work as part of a small facilities team in the Department of Psychiatry, carrying out a range of reception / front of house, administrative and maintenance tasks. The team comprises 4 staff: Buildings and Facilities Manager, Facilities Officer; and two Facilities/Reception Assistants (including this post). The two Facilities Assistants work together to provide flexible support, including reception and front of house cover, from 8.00am until 5.00pm Monday-Friday. The Department occupies space in 7 buildings on the Warneford Hospital site in Headington.

About the Role
The post is permanent and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. The post is full time; however consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part-time on a pro‑rata basis (minimum 80% FTE). Due to the on‑site focus of this role, it is not possible to accommodate flexible working requests for remote or hybrid working.
You will staff the reception desk, welcome visitors and deal with routine queries, ensuring a smart professional first point of contact. As a member of the facilities team, you will handle and resolve building and maintenance issues and manage the setup of rooms for meetings and events including the set up of AV equipment.
You will have GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent, along with previous experience in a customer‑focused environment. With strong interpersonal and communication skills you will have a good understanding of the issues around confidentiality and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Good timekeeping and reliability are essential. You should have a knowledge of MS Word, Excel and email and be able to carry out basic fault finding on AV/IT equipment.
