We are seeking
An outstanding Product Manager to lead the delivery and continuous evolution of the University’s new Trusted Research Environment (TRE) – a secure solution designed to support sensitive data research at scale. You will hold end-to-end responsibility for the TRE product: shaping the long-term vision, defining features, guiding development, and ensuring operational sustainability. Working with an agile delivery team and senior stakeholders across the University, you’ll champion user needs while aligning with strategic goals. Your leadership will be pivotal in integrating the TRE with wider research computing infrastructure – including high-performance computing, cloud platforms, and secure data centres – positioning Oxford at the forefront of national and international secure research. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a high-profile initiative that will transform how sensitive research data is managed, accessed, and protected at scale.
About You
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
- A proven track record in managing complex digital platforms, ideally in research computing, trusted research environments, or secure data settings
- Strategic leadership skills and experience managing high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
- A sophisticated product mindset—able to define and prioritise features in collaboration with technical and academic stakeholders
- Strong financial planning experience, including cost model development and income generation
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work at all levels across a large, devolved organisation
- A visionary approach to long-term platform development, with a focus on sustainability and continual improvement
- Deep familiarity with research computing environments and infrastructure
- The ability to drive high-impact change that supports institutional goals and enhances Oxford’s global research leadership
