Salary: Standard Grade 5: £32,108 - £37,338 with discretionary range to £40,514 per annum (pro rata). Inclusive of pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year (pro rata).
We are seeking to appoint a Personal Assistant to provide high‑level administrative and organisational support to Professors Miles Carroll and Anneke Lucassen within the Centre for Human Genetics, Nuffield Department of Medicine. The role will ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of their diaries and research groups, allowing them to focus on strategic and academic priorities. Acting as a central point of contact, you will handle a wide range of matters, including those of a confidential nature, and support the wider administrative team to ensure effective running of the Centre.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex diaries, including scheduling, cancellations, and adjustments.
- Act as first point of contact, handling correspondence and delegating as necessary.
- Organise meetings and travel arrangements, including international arrangements and visas.
- Prepare agendas, papers, and minutes, draft responses and briefing notes.
- Provide administrative and financial support, including expenses and invoices.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
- Support research group administration and advise on procedures.
- Improve processes and build effective working relationships across the department.
Qualifications
- Education at least GCSE level or equivalent.
- Experience in diary management and complex travel arrangements.
- Ability to draft correspondence and produce well‑presented documents.
- Excellent IT skills: email, Word, Excel.
- Strong numeracy skills and experience handling confidential information with tact and discretion.
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise a busy workload, meet deadlines, and demonstrate high accuracy and attention to detail.
The position is part‑time (18.25 hours / 50% FTE per week) on a permanent contract.
