As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, configuring, and supporting the University's core networking infrastructure – including our metropolitan area backbone network and multi‑site data centre networks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure services are delivered reliably and securely, providing second‑ and third‑line support to University members and contributing to the network’s resilience and performance.
- Join the major refresh of the University's backbone network and help roll out IPv6 in the coming year, modernising and future‑proofing infrastructure.
- Provide second‑ and third‑line support, resolving complex network issues effectively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrate a proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach, comfortable responding to shifting priorities.
- Take pride in delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused service while ensuring work is carried out safely and securely.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise or campus networks, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in providing second‑ and third‑line support, resolving complex network issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Proactive, flexible, and adaptable mindset, comfortable responding to shifting priorities.
