IT Services is a key department that ensures the University has the robust, reliable, and high‑performing IT facilities required to support the distinctive needs of teaching, learning, research, and administration. Responsibilities
- Help optimise network flows and their resiliency & availability between distributed research computing in central data centres, departmental spaces, and colos.
- Manage AI & scientific computing generated data flows between users and clusters/clouds and dedicated storage, distributed Ceph storage, and collaborators using services such as Globus.
- Optimize network flows and underlying architecture for high‑bandwidth and low‑latency local and international large‑scale data transfers.
- Have experience deploying and interpreting research network flow instrumentation such as PerfSonar to optimise end‑to‑end performance for data‑intensive flows.
- Have undertaken network automation using tools such as Python, Ansible, IaC, Git, etc.
- Have experience working in a research environment (e.g., university, supporting data‑intensive workloads, etc.).
