We are seeking a researcher to lead a programme of work to develop a new strengths and abilities assessment toolkit to enhance strengths-based education for neurodivergent primary school-aged children. This will involve working closely with teams conducting parallel work with preschool children and adolescents within the ‘All About Me’ project.

The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis. The minimum on-site time is 3 days/week for a full-time post.
About the Role
The post is funded until 30 September 2030 and is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology, Life and Mind Building. It is a full-time post; however, consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part‑time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro‑rata basis. You will design and implement a high‑quality programme of research to generate new knowledge that meets the All About Me project’s objectives, with a specific focus on primary‑school aged children. You will disseminate findings through research articles and national/international conferences, manage the research budget, delegate work to junior members of the team, and coach other members on specialist methodologies or procedures. The role offers an ideal opportunity for a researcher looking to develop a career that brings meaningful change to the lives of neurodiverse children and their families.
Qualifications
- Relevant Ph.D./D.Phil with post‑qualification research experience in psychology or a related discipline.
- Strong publication record and familiarity with the existing literature in a relevant field.
- Desirable experience of working with AI/assistive technology in education, mental health or cognition‑focused research.
