The Humanities REF Officer is a pivotal role in the Humanities Division's preparations for Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029 and will work closely with the REF Project Manager to provide specialist administrative support for the Humanities Division's REF submission, ensuring that relevant information is made available, collected and reported in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Organise work in collaboration with the rest of the divisional REF team, bringing knowledge and experience to support administrative systems and to play a full part in supporting all aspects of the Division's submission to REF 2029.
  • Build strong relationships with academic and professional service staff across the faculties of the Division.
  • Develop and maintain specialist knowledge and a thorough understanding of REF processes and procedures, and develop confidence to advise senior academic colleagues on the rules and on the most appropriate and efficient way to execute REF-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Experience of working in administration, keen attention to detail, strong organisational and numerical skills.
  • Ability to develop expertise using computerised systems such as Symplectic Elements.
  • Commitment to working successfully in a team and the ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion.
