Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Development of the Lithium-Air Battery
Department of Materials
About the role
As part of a collaborative project, the PDRA will carry out world-leading research on the development of the lithium-air battery.
The Li-air battery represents a step-change in battery technology, with a theoretical energy up to ten times that of current lithium-ion cells.
This role is part of an exciting project that brings together scientists and engineers to tackle the key challenges preventing commercialisation.
The position will involve lab work in our recently furbished state-of-the-art laboratories, collaborating with other groups, presenting to key stakeholders and preparing manuscripts for publication.
About you
We are looking to recruit an outstanding PDRA and we encourage applications from candidates with a background in chemistry or materials science.
We are keen to hear from people with expertise in inorganic/organic chemistry (including synthesis), electrochemistry and physical chemistry (including spectroscopy, modelling and reaction dynamics).
You will be a well-organised and self-motivated scientist who enjoys cutting edge research in a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment.
The role requires a relevant PhD(DPhil), excellent communication skills and a desire to take this technology to the next level.
