We are seeking a creative and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the Turing AI World-Leading Fellowship research programme led by Professor Alison Noble. This exciting and ambitious research aims to develop new AI for shared human‑AI decision‑making in healthcare imaging, focusing on temporal reasoning and ultrasound video analysis from a human‑AI collaboration perspective.
This is a full‑time, fixed‑term post funded by UKRI for 24 months, based at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford.
Responsibilities
- Design and pilot testing of machine learning‑based automated ultrasound video analysis models that incorporate temporal reasoning.
- Investigate how human behaviour may change when using temporal‑reasoning ultrasound AI tools.
- Collaborate with clinical domain experts to design and evaluate models in simulated and real clinical scenarios.
- Conduct quantitative studies to assess model performance and qualitative studies to evaluate human factors.
Qualifications
- Relevant PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in a suitable field.
- Publications in medical image analysis or computer vision video analysis.
- Interest in research at the interface of machine learning with real‑world applications and use.
- Knowledge of ultrasound imaging is not required.
