We are seeking an outstanding Media and Communications Officer to help tell the stories that matter. Working at one of the world's leading public policy schools, you will bring cutting‑edge research, influential ideas and inspiring people to audiences around the world. At a time of profound global change, the Blavatnik School of Government is shaping debate and driving real‑world impact. Through our world‑class research, teaching and convening power, we work to improve governance and equip current and future leaders to tackle society’s most pressing challenges. You will play a key role in raising the profile of the School and its experts, identifying compelling stories, securing media coverage, and communicating our work to policymakers, partners, funders, prospective students and global audiences. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of public policy, academia and current affairs, supporting a vibrant community of researchers, practitioners and future leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop media opportunities and support academics engaging with the press.
  • Produce high‑quality content and help protect and enhance the School’s reputation.
  • Identify compelling stories, secure media coverage and communicate work to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with media and communications channels to place stories and identify proactive coverage opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional writer, able to produce clear, concise and accurate content for a range of audiences and channels.
  • Intellectually curious, quick learner, comfortable working with complex ideas and exercising sound judgement.
  • Experience working with media and communications channels to place stories, build relationships and identify opportunities for proactive coverage.
  • Highly collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Motivated by the mission of the School and a good understanding of current affairs, public policy and global challenges.

Closing date

The closing date for applications is 12 noon (UK time) on Friday, 10 July 2026. In‑person interviews are expected to take place at the School in the week beginning 20 July 2026.
