We are looking for reliable, conscientious individuals to add to our register of Invigilators. The appointment is offered on an 'as required' basis throughout the year, with the majority of sessions occurring between March and the end of June (possibly including Saturdays and Bank Holidays). Invigilators are scheduled on a session by session basis, in multiples of half days or whole days, according to their availability. There are 20 posts available. The work involves laying out documentation onto desks, some basic administration, and the invigilation of each examination session. Sessions are normally 4.5 hrs, but some exams may be longer. Invigilators play a crucial role in providing a calm and structured environment to give our students the best possible chance of success in their examinations.
Qualifications
- You will have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to remain calm under pressure.
- At peak times over 2000 students sit exams with us every day, and they need clear and respectful guidance.
- You will also be an experienced team-worker able to follow set procedures, but with the flexibility and initiative to make sensible decisions as needed.
- Proven written and verbal English skills are essential as is a good general standard of secondary education or higher.
- Our invigilators need to have a high degree of personal integrity and to understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality when handling exam papers, scripts and lists of student information.
This role does not meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa under the UK Visa & Immigration points-based system. We are therefore unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
