We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the University of Oxford as an Apprentice Finance Assistant in the Nuffield Department of Medicine The Apprentice Finance Assistant will work as part of the Nuffield Department of Medicine's Finance Shared Service Centre, joining a team that provides transactional finance support to 20 units across the department. The apprentice will be trained in a range of day-to-day finance activities, including raising and reviewing purchase requisitions and purchase orders, processing supplier invoices and credit notes, reviewing supplier statements, resolving payment queries, maintaining accurate financial records and using the Oracle Financials system. They will work closely with experienced finance colleagues, internal customers, suppliers and other University finance teams, while reporting to the Head of Financial Shared Services. The environment will be busy, professional, supportive and team-focused, requiring good organisation, attention to detail, communication and the ability to follow financial procedures accurately.
Alongside gaining practical experience, you will attend Abingdon & Witney College and work towards AAT Level 2 and Level 3 accounting qualifications allowing you to combine formal study with hands-on experience in a large organisation., You will be passionate about starting your career in Finance and excited about the opportunity of becoming an apprentice at the University of Oxford. To complete the level 3 apprenticeship you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A
Qualifications & Salary
- -C in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent. Apprentice Grade 1: Β£26,686. This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of Β£1,730 per year (pro rata). Regardless of your prior qualifications Abingdon and Witney College will require you to complete a short initial assessment during the application process. There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.
