Overview

As Credit Controller within the Finance Division, you will play a key role in helping the University manage its income by ensuring outstanding debts are collected promptly, while delivering excellent service to internal departments and external customers.

The role supports the University’s financial sustainability by maintaining accurate customer accounts and contributing to effective income management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and collect outstanding debts.
  • Investigate and resolve account queries and monitor overdue debts.
  • Recommend appropriate recovery actions and maintain customer records within the Oracle Accounts Receivable system.
  • Use judgement to manage complex cases and support departments with credit control best practice.
  • Prepare management information reports for senior staff.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in credit control and sound professional judgement.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, ability to prioritise a workload and meet deadlines.
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, confident telephone manner.
  • Strong administrative experience and a good level of general education.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel and databases.
