Position Overview
The post is funded for one year from August 2026 and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital and the Department of Primary Care in the Gibson Building, Oxford. The role is primarily focused on in‑person teaching delivery and is therefore expected to be on site for the majority of the time, with remote working considered when no in‑person meetings or sessions are scheduled.
Responsibilities
- Teaching activities include formal lectures, small group tutorials, organising teaching and assessments, supporting individual students, and participating in formative and summative assessments.
- The postholder will attend meetings, collaborate with other educators, and develop innovative training projects.
- In addition, you will be expected to take on a specific project to contribute to the long‑term development of teaching and the integration of scholarship in the medical school.
Reporting to Professor Kate Saunders (Psychiatry) and Professor Sophie Park (Primary Care), the postholder will support the delivery and development of undergraduate psychiatry and primary care in the Oxford Medical School.
Qualifications
- Hold an MB ChB or equivalent and have completed satisfactorily two years of Foundation Training, or the equivalent, at the time of taking up the post, together with full GMC registration.
- Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, a demonstrated interest and commitment to undergraduate teaching, and evidence of commitment to scholarship and continuing professional development.
