Overview
As Associate Head of Development, you drive major gift fundraising and strategic leadership to secure transformative support for Oxford’s priorities. You’ll manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors, build trusted relationships with academic and senior stakeholders, and translate ambitious ideas into compelling proposals. You’ll also foster a high-performing team environment, strengthen pipelines, and contribute to fundraising strategy during a period of growth. This role offers the chance to shape Oxford’s next era of philanthropy and impact.

Responsibilities
- Personally develop and steward a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects
- Secure significant philanthropic gifts (high six-figure and seven-figure gifts) for Oxford’s priorities
- Collaborate with academic leaders to translate complex concepts into compelling propositions
- Support and mentor colleagues, strengthening fundraising pipelines and strategy
- Contribute to fundraising strategy and create an enabling environment for team success
- Possibly line-manage and lead others in fundraising efforts
- Engage with senior stakeholders to inspire confidence and secure opportunities
Key requirements
- Strong personal track record in major gifts fundraising
- Experience securing high six-figure and/or seven-figure gifts
- Ability to build trusted donor relationships and exercise sound judgement on large gifts
- Proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to inspire support
- Comfort working with senior stakeholders and potential for leadership
