Overview

The Medical Sciences Division seeks to appoint to the post of Education Quality Assurance Officer within the small Taught Degrees and Quality Assurance team in the Medical Sciences Division Education Section. This post supports the growing range of activities in the Division and University relating to taught degrees. The role is varied across the academic year as projects arise and policies and processes develop. It is an excellent opportunity to build on knowledge of education within the higher education sector, or for a new entrant who is a quick learner and eager to develop their knowledge. The role provides an understanding of academic administration at the University and a foundation for future career development.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the quality of undergraduate and taught postgraduate degrees within the Medical Sciences Division.
  • Coordinate the Division\’s staff award scheme for Teaching Excellence.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of educational procedures and policies for taught degrees.

Person specification / Qualifications

  • Proactive, highly organised with excellent attention to detail, communication and analytical skills.
  • Prior administrative experience and an interest in developing a career in higher education.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with a collaborative approach, and the confidence to work independently and proactively.

Role type and arrangements

This post is permanent and available on a full-time basis. Applications are also welcome on a part-time basis from candidates who can offer at least 80% FTE. Although an on-site presence is a requirement of the role, there is also an opportunity for some remote working.
