An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Department of Biomedical Services (BMS). We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Facility Manager to support the operational management of one of the University of Oxford's animal research facilities based in the centre of Oxford.
Working closely with the Facility Manager, you will assist in overseeing the day-to-day running of the facility, supervising technical staff, coordinating procedural work, ensuring compliance with ASPA regulations, and supporting the welfare and husbandry of animals within the unit. The department is committed to supporting and developing our staff and opportunities which staff are encouraged to make the most of to enhance their personal and career development.
This role is ideal for an experienced manager with strong organisational and leadership skills who is looking to take the next step in facility management. Biomedical Services (BMS) supports world-class research at the University of Oxford by providing expert care for laboratory animals across multiple facilities. Our work is governed by the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and is driven by a strong commitment to animal welfare and scientific excellence.
You will also play a key role in staff development, training, scheduling, operational organisation, and maintaining high standards of animal care and compliance. Opportunities are available for continuing professional development, including further training in animal technology and welfare.
