This post is available on a flexible hybrid basis with the postholder expected to be available to work on site for a minimum of 3 days per week.
About the Role
The post is funded until 31 March 2028 and is full-time. It is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
Reporting to Professor Rachel Upthegrove, this postholder will work across a number of projects supported by NIHR and UKRI funding, together with the Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre (OH-BRC) Molecular Targets Theme. The post holder will be a key member of the group working within the broad aim of developing evidence for novel treatment targets, repurposed therapeutics and stratified subgroups of patients with severe mental illness.
A strong collaborative approach is essential, and the ability to work with colleagues across disciplines. In addition to establishing new collaborations at the University of Oxford, a key role will be working closely with the University of Birmingham Psychosis research group, also supported by the Oxford Health BRC.
About You
You will be a clinically qualified doctor with some experience of psychiatry. A relevant PhD/DPhil, e.g. in neuroscience, together with relevant experience would be desirable. Demonstrable experience of advanced multimodal data analysis (e.g., fluid-based biomarkers including genomic, proteomic or inflammatory markers) is essential, as is the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities. Experience within the psychosis topic area and working in clinical trials and/or experimental medicine studies would be desirable.
