Overview

In this fixed-term four-year post you will combine high-quality clinical work with lead‑in research within a premier clinical environment, aiming to progress toward a CCT. The post is part of the NIHR Integrated Academic Training Pathway and supports MD/PhD/DPhil/DM holders through academic and clinical development. You will engage with Infectious Diseases training paths (ID/MM or ID/GIM) and work within Oxford’s medical science community to advance impactful research and clinical care.

Responsibilities

  • undertake high-quality research within a clinically excellent environment
  • perform clinical work toward gaining a CCT
  • participate in the NIHR Integrated Academic Training Pathway
  • work in Infectious Diseases either with ID/MM or ID/GIM
  • align with local criteria for parallel, locally funded posts if available

Key requirements

  • medical qualification with full GMC registration
  • hold or have submitted for a Higher Degree (PhD/DPhil/MD/DM)
  • hold a current National Training Number (NTN)
  • specialty track in Infectious Diseases (ID/MM or ID/GIM) with appropriate ST3/ST4/ST5 entry pathways according to specialty
