Description
We are seeking a full time Programme Officer to join the Technical AI Governance programme at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford. The post is funded by the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative and is fixed-term for 3 years.
The Technical AI Governance (TAIG) programme at the Department of Engineering Science is a first-of-its-kind research programme that bridges the gap between cutting-edge AI research and effective governance. TAIG researchers work in tandem with the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative (AIGI) to improve the impact of AI on global societal outcomes through impactful research that is rigorously grounded in the social and computational sciences, decision‑maker education campaigns, and training the next generations of technology governance leaders.
You will be responsible for the following (full descriptions available from the job description)
Student Support and Programme Coordination
Administrative and Grant Proposal Support
Events and Visitor Logistics
University Processes and General Support
You will be educated to at least undergraduate level (or equivalent experience) with the demonstrable intellectual capacity, reasoning and analytical skills expected of a graduate, with excellent written and oral communication skills, including a high standard of written English and experience presenting information in written form to a variety of audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and liaise effectively and in a confident and professional manner with people at all levels together with a demonstrably high level of personal discretion and judgement, especially when dealing with sensitive and confidential information, or data that falls under GDPR protections.
