The University of Nottingham is seeking passionate Level 2-qualified Swimming Teachers to deliver high-quality swimming lessons for all ages and abilities, from 6 weeks to adults. Positions are available for both regular hours and cover work, including group lessons, 1-2-1 lessons, and Early Years sessions.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging lessons aligned with Swim England\’s Learn to Swim programme, focusing on stroke technique and water skills.
- Following schemes of work and assessing swimmers\’ progress through registers and assessment matrices.
- Demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to the programme.
- Attending training and meetings, and uploading relevant qualifications such as your CV, swim teacher qualification, and additional certifications like NPLQ or NRASTC if available.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification.
- Experience in delivering swimming lessons and knowledge of the Swim England programme.
- Positive, professional attitude.
- Desirable: NRASTC or NPLQ qualifications for Early Years lessons; opportunities for training if not already qualified.
Lesson Schedule:
Group lessons are available on:
- Mondays 16.00 – 19.30
- Tuesdays 16.00 – 20.00
- Thursdays 9.30 – 12.00
- Saturdays 9.00 – 12.45 / 12.00 – 16.00
- Sundays 9.00 – 13.00
1-2-1 lessons are scheduled on:
- Mondays 10.30 – 15.00 and 16.30 – 18.30
- Saturdays 12.00 – 16.00
- Sundays 11.00 – 15.00
Early Years lessons are held on:
- Tuesdays 16.00 – 18.30
- Fridays 9.00 – 12.00
- Saturdays 9.00 – 17.00
- Sundays 9.00 – 13.00
Additional Information:
Positions are available for both regular and cover work. Regular slots include:
- Mondays 16.00 – 18.30
- Saturdays 9.00 – 11.45 / 12.00 – 16.00
- Sundays 9.00 – 13.00 & 11.00 – 15.00
Applicants should be available from September or as soon as possible until the end of July, with opportunities to work during holidays through special lessons. The university offers competitive hourly pay and ongoing training.
