The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

Applications are invited to the above role to support the organisation and preparation of undergraduate laboratory practical classes, assistance with final-year research projects and provide a range of technical skills in the disciplines of Exercise Physiology, Metabolism and Nutrition for the BSc Sport & Exercise Science programme.

Based between the David Ross Sports Village and the Medical School (Queen’s Medical Centre), the person appointed will provide technical and administrative support, which will enable academic staff and students to participate in laboratory practical classes and undertake research projects in a safe and effective manner, following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and health and safety guidelines. Appropriate continued development and training will be available, some of which will be mandatory and must be successfully completed.

We are seeking candidates with previous experience working with relevant techniques and equipment or in a human metabolism, physiology or nutrition facility.

Candidates must demonstrate strong customer relation skills, the ability to work accurately to maintain high standards and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Candidates with a proven ability to learn new techniques and procedures quickly, as well as experience of either assisting human volunteer teaching activities or human volunteer research studies, would be desirable.

Please note that this role requires the ability to lift and move objects, as it involves storing and moving consumables and equipment.

Candidates must hold a Higher National Certificate, Physiology, Biomedical Science or similar discipline plus considerable work experience in a relevant role or substantial work experience in human physiology, metabolism or nutrition

This is a full-time, maternity cover, fixed-term post and is available for a period of9 months.
