The School of Sociology & Social Policy – Postgraduate Teaching Assistant Positions
The School of Sociology & Social Policy is seeking Postgraduate Teaching Assistants (PGTAs) to support undergraduate modules in the autumn semester of 2025-26. Applications are open to all PGRs registered in the School, regardless of previous teaching experience.
Multiple part-time positions are available, each offering one day of work per week on a fixed-term basis from 1st September 2025 to 28th February 2026. The work involves supporting various modules, with details discussed during interviews.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating two weekly seminar groups per work package.
- Marking assessments at specified points.
- Responding to student queries.
- Meeting with module convenors to ensure consistent teaching and assessment.
- Attending meetings as required.
Work is flexible over the contract duration, accommodating teaching delivery and marking deadlines.
