Nottingham University Business School China Dr. Steven Zhou’s research team is seeking outstanding Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the postdoctoral research station in business administration for the development of University of Nottingham Ningbo China research agenda., * To formulate and articulate research objectives, alongside developing proposals for both individual and collaborative projects, utilizing established methodologies and techniques to execute research effectively within the specified area;

Dr. Steven Zhou, an Associate Professor of International Business and Strategy at NUBS China, conducts research that bridges the gap between academia and management practices, with a focus on cross-cultural innovation and management from an indigenous perspective. Boasting over ten years of industry experience, Dr. Zhou has served as a senior engineer and consultant in various roles, including project manager, international business consultant, business development, and R&D director. He holds several patents and has contributed to national and industrial standards in green building and sustainable construction. Dr. Zhou’s academic contributions are substantial, with numerous articles on strategy and innovation in top-tier journals such as the Journal of International Business Studies, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, and Management and Organization Review. His leadership and involvement in research projects have attracted funding from

About the Project. Top management team (TMT) characteristics are viewed as key social factors that may influence firms’ environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. This project aims to investigate how TMT characteristics would impact on firms’ ESG performance. In addition, given the intricate relationships between focal firms and their supply chain partners, we will unravel how the ESG performance effects of TMT characteristics spill over to upstream suppliers and downstream customers. This project shall adopt multiple research methods, including (1) case study, (2) survey method, (3) econometric method (e.g., panel data estimation method and difference-in-differences identification), and (4) text mining method. We aim to collect a diverse dataset to explore how TMT characteristics influence the ESG performance of firms. This project is expected to last for 2 years. applications, teaching cases, and others.

The candidate must have obtained a PhD degree within 3 years and in the relevant areas being recruited to;

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex information. Excellent communication skills in Chinese is a plus.

You will be offered a fixed term contract initially with University of Nottingham Ningbo China for 2 years with a probation of 2 months. You will be offered a minimum annual salary package of RMB267,233 with competitive benefits package. Postdoctoral Research Fellow is also able to apply RMB50,000 research funding after starting your research.
