An opportunity has arisen for a Pathology Support Technician for the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, based at the Sutton Bonington Campus.
The post is offered on a Fixed-Term contract. Hours of work are full-time 36.25 hours per week.
The person appointed will carry out duties in the Post Mortem and Dissection Rooms at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency and Vet School. The main responsibilities will include assisting the Veterinary Investigation Officers with animal post mortem examinations by collecting tissues.
Candidates should possess GCSEs (grade C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English, or have work experience in a similar role. An understanding of the basic principles of animal biology/anatomy is essential. The post requires flexibility, dynamism, energy, initiative, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and good communication skills. The successful candidate will adopt a positive and flexible approach to work to handle a variety of requests and tasks.
