Are you looking for a role that underpins world-leading research and teaching, and gives you the chance to make a positive difference to the delivery of our services? To support our continued success, we are looking for an additional Senior Operations Officer in the Business School, who will work flexibly as part of an integrated team to support the delivery and continuous improvement of research operations and other administrative support. The division of responsibility between members of the research team will be agreed locally. You will have a primary focus on Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) to include supporting Post Graduate Researchers (PGRs).

Working to ensure the delivery of excellent and seamless support for School research operations, governance and activity, you will:

  • Support the collection and preparation of information and documentation for research operational management and quality assurance and enhancement purposes.
  • Provide specialist support, advice and guidance on research operational processes and activities.
  • Develop, deliver and coordinate support and activity across a range of areas ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of relevant plans, policies and processes.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to relevant members of the School's senior leadership team.
  • Act as Secretary and contribute to the management of relevant School committees.
  • Contribute to the planning, management and delivery of projects and initiatives to support School plans and priorities.

As someone who is self‑motivated and has experience of contributing to projects and improving processes, you will help drive forward change and deliver excellent service.

This is fixed-term, part-time (29 hours per week), secondment cover position available up to 30 November 2026. Requests for secondment from internal candidates will be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
