Overview

Based at any of our local University sites, this role will undertake work on all lakes, ponds and ornamental marginal edges, carrying out leaf collection and spraying around water features.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake water feature plant maintenance to ensure the correct operation of water treatment, filtration and pump equipment, including the safe isolation of water pipes and electrical units within the plant pits.
  • Undertake remedial work, inspect areas for damaged pipes and leaks, and record and monitor data of water and chemical levels, adjusting computer systems as required to ensure levels remain balanced.
  • Carry out practical garden maintenance and development; knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals.

Qualifications

  • NVQ 2 and/or City and Guilds Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture/Grounds Practices or equivalent.
  • Experience with ornamental water features (lakes and ponds) in a grounds maintenance role.
  • Current driving licence.

Salary and Benefits

  • £25,073 to £28,108 per annum (pro-rata if applicable). (£13.30 - £14.91 per hour)

Details

  • This position is offered on a permanent basis.
  • Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week) to be worked 5 days out of 7 (mainly Monday to Friday) with flexibility to work weekends as required.
  • Job share arrangements may be considered.
