The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was established in 2004 and was the first Sino‑foreign University to open its doors in China with the full approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education. It is part of the University of Nottingham’s Global University, a world top 1% university (QS Ranking), with co‑operation from Zhejiang Wanli Education Group, a key player in the education sector in China. Currently, the University has more than 10,000 students and about 1,100 staff members from 70 countries and regions worldwide, and the number is still growing.

The Vice Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) will be a key member of UNNC’s Management Board. Working closely with the Provost, they will bring strategic leadership to the development of the research agenda and knowledge exchange programmes at UNNC. Working in partnership with the Faculty Deans and Professional Services Directors, the Vice Provost for RKE will develop approaches to knowledge exchange that support the comprehensive research.

They will also have a close working relationship with their counterparts at the University of Nottingham in the UK and Malaysia. UNNC is seeking a strong, strategic leader whose excellent communication and networking skills will enable them to lead and advance the research and knowledge exchange strategy of the University. The successful candidate will have proven success in large‑scale academic research and/or knowledge exchange.

Internationally leading in their field, they will bring senior academic managerial experience, as well as the ability to work in partnership with industry, government and other academic partners. With proven analytical, strategic and people skills, they will have demonstrated their ability to lead change through conveying a compelling vision, building consensus and leading through influence.
