We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, proactive person to join our team who can deliver timely and high‑quality technical support within the School of Pharmacy. The fixed‑term post is offered full time (36.25 hours per week).

About the Role

  • Support and maintain key technical services within the Boots Science Building.
  • Collaborate with academic staff and the technical team to enable high‑quality research activities.
  • Monitor health and safety within the laboratory environment by assessing risks of planned activities and completing up‑to‑date standard operating procedures.
  • Provide support, guidance and assistance to Biological Category 2, chemistry and instrument laboratories, including facilities, equipment, skills and techniques.
  • Perform monthly monitoring of research labs and equipment.
  • Conduct building and lab inductions.
  • Maintain an inventory of chemicals.
  • Deliver instrument training such as spectroscopy or HPLC equipment.
  • Ensure that resources are maintained and available when required.

About You

You will have experience working in a technical role and will be educated to at least HNC or equivalent, or have equivalent working experience in a relevant technical or scientific role. You possess problem‑solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information with clarity.
