Salary: £29,740 to £36,446 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the above post to work as part of the University of Nottingham’s award-winning central IT Service Desk, which is located at the Kings Meadow Campus and plays a pivotal role in helping to ensure applicants, students, staff and third parties derive the greatest possible benefits from the university’s extensive IT services.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first line support to the university community for all IT-related support requests (Incidents and Service Requests) received via telephone and self-service.
  • This will include support for the university's Campus Solutions and UniCore platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a successful track record in a similar technical support role, including troubleshooting and supporting Windows and Apple operating systems, Microsoft 365 products, E-mail and Internet-based services.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft 365, user administration systems, network monitoring tools, mobile operating systems and PC hardware is desirable.
  • A HNC/HND or above is required; however, equivalent qualifications and experience will be considered.

Contract and hours:

  • The position is offered on a permanent contract.
  • Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).

  • Job share arrangements may also be considered.
