About This Role
We are seeking a Research Software Engineer / Computational Modelling Specialist with experience in power electronics to support the implementation of a structured assessment framework within the University. This framework integrates multiple project components into a unified system capable of analysing data, exploring uncertainty, and producing transparent, defensible outputs for research and decision‑making.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across project areas to understand system components, available data, and associated uncertainties or assumptions.
- Engage with partner organisations and, where necessary, undertake short secondments to understand data sources and operational contexts.
- Translate stakeholder input into a coherent computational workflow that enables consistent analysis and reporting.
- Develop software solutions as required, following rigorous interpretation of methodology and data.
- Apply strong analytical thinking, structured problem‑solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills to drive the project forward.
Qualifications
- Advanced expertise in engineering analytics, decision modelling, and systems development.
- Experience managing complex, cutting‑edge research projects with academic and industrial partners.
- Proven track record of collaboration and innovative problem‑solving in sustainable technology contexts.

Employment Details
Fixed‑term contract for two years, 20 hours per week (job share arrangements may be considered).
